Headspin Flyer final - 09
Click pic for bigger
-
Did my last Headspin flyer today, kindo weird I've done them for years and a lot of folks had known my work from them, mainly because I pretty much had free reign on the drawing as long as it suited the mood of the club, which is very rare. Also out of a lot of the club flyers it's a place I'd actually go to. Will be good to see what the next dude comes up with.

Aw whitmin?

After puking up a little in my mouth watching this, I thought I'd share it. I love how it's all greenscreened badly and Sean Connery for fucks sake, I'd love Scotland too if I lived in the Bahamas as a tax exile.
Jocksploitation... not to be viewed on a full stomach.

Haunted Graffiti Photos
-Pic thieved from Recoat.

As usual I never took any good photos ofthe opening night but thankfully some folk did.

You can view the work on the Recoat Flickr.

The show turn out was great, it was the best I'd felt before a show too, maybe I was actually invested more in the work, it was a long process of ideas between myself and Lyken. Thankfully Amy and Ali were incredibly supportive as always in giving us the space and I reckon it could move into some new directions for creating images, I learned a lot during the course of the last months and still think there's a lot to explore.
-
We are looking at ways of making a show based more in a scifi universe with astronauts, ships and environments, with a soundtrack and interactive machines which would be great. So if there's any billionaires willing to fund our project, I'm open for offers, he.

Now that's a machine! Been finding old camera images for a job and found some cool images of Kubrick one pre bearded tramp stage when he looked pretty fresh and then full on bloated hobo style.

Space Is Lost
-I've been doodling letters quite a bit for the Haunted Graffiti show, and have been using gel pens as they are super easy to draw with, cheap and really bright. so I drew a spaceman that is never getting home, destined to spend the rest of his life floating in a tin box with only robots and plants for company. Bonus.
-
Start hanging the show at Recoat tomorrow, work is going better than expected, even though I completely destroyed a painting by varnishing it, whoops. looking forward to painting some machine type stuff in the space.

Weather the storm

Here's a nearly finished piece where I was trying to transfer the styles I have been making digitally to a painting, it was a strange process, but I have definitely learned some new techniques that should cross over well towards illustration and character painting too, seems old dogs can learn new stuff, if a little slowly. This painting is A4, the larger pieces are 4ft squared. Mech on!

Haunted Sounds
-Click image to view sound machine
-
I made a new interactive sound machine thing on my site, it's part of the Recoat Show. Have a click on the orange dots and create weird sounds. The shop will be down for a bit while I go through my drawings and get them scanned in.
-
Also for everyone that's emailed the last while, I will get back to you, I just have a build up just now!

Syd Mead. VISUAL FUTURIST
-
I still find it funny that Syd Mead says he isn't an artist. His colour schemes are unreal, his machines design perfection, he makes a future you want to live in, right down to the toaster.

Bubble cogs

How the letter were created below. The letters are a beyond bad bubble style, but using particles in After Effects i was able to create a basic working transition between the shapes, at the moment a lot of it is guess work and tutorials, but I think it will lead to some more animation ideas.
