Stanislav Kolíbal

-
Had this image on my desktop for a while and had forgotten where I had got it from, so I had a wee look today and found it was an image by Stanislav Kolíbal, a Czech artist, sculptor and illustrator, Here's some more images on Google, to save typing his name in.
His style is great in both the artwork he produces and his kids book illustrations, I realised I'd seen it when I was researching the Kaleva, for a job I was working on with a Finnish paint company.

Burns Show

Soon enough I will be having an exhibition at the Henderson Gallery in Edinburgh, of work based on writing by Robert Burns. The opening will be on the 1st of May, but it has been organised very quickly so can post more details soon.
I'm looking forward to playing with lettering and characters, this is the biggest thing I've done in a year so should be quite different I think to work with poems and stories. I am concentrating on the story of Tam O' Shanter for some of the bigger paintings.

As well as the artwork there will be music and readings.

Urban Outfitters invited Recoat to curate a month long exhibition in their arts space. They hung it Monday, so pop in to check it out, its packed with beautiful work from artists from all over the world, aswell as home-grown Scottish talent. Participants include Heiko Mueller, Matt Mignanelli, Anna King, David Galletly, ELPH, Rue Five, Sara Broski, Jacob Smith, DUNC4N, ESTUM, Fraser Gray and China Mike

You can see more pics at their Flickr. Urban Outfitters, 157 Buchanon Street, Glasgow, G1 2JX.

Recoat are rocking oot some mad shows, including a show coming up of new work by Kirsty Whiten, which is just nuts, I've always liked her stuff but she's busting some madness at the moment.

Monster Truckin

-
Been working a bit more on the Monster stuff, think I've got the look of the animations sorted just need to add all the scenes and shots now. Kindo squeezing it in around trying to learn a bunch of different geekery. Plus I started designing my website about 400 years ago and now I've finalised the engine style I want for it. Geekout.
