The King is Dead

James Brown, RIP.
His music was revolutionary.
Although he came from a shithole, he wrote upbeat music.
Without his breaks there wouldn't be much good hiphop.
Soul Brother number one.

Season of Joy!

The only part I like about xmas time is seeing friends an family.
Also the excuse of being able to get drunk for days on end.
But seen as the prices go up so much in bars in Scotland, I'll be staying in like Scrooge.
Maybe some ghosts may come calling. Bah humbug indeed.
See yer in 2007, all the best for you and yours.
Here's a drawing of a dude trying to get home for xmas. Hope he makes it.

MIN piece

This is one of my favourite pieces, I saw it the other day after a long time, it's not cleanly finished, not super slick, it just does everything it needs to. Cllick the image to see it in all it's rusty train technicolour glory.

Motherfunk Winter drawing

Just finished a flyer front for Motherfunk, testing out the digi paint technique again, mixed with the original pencil sketch too, still needs a bit of work before the digi paint stuff starts to look best, sometimes it works fine, then others it doesn't.

Blindman drawing

Pencil and masking tape again, with some felt tip for the dots.
It's strange people used to believe that blindness was a curse from God. As if being blind isn't bad enough, without folk thinking you did something evil in a pst life so that God made you blind. People really believe any old shit.
I am going to try and do some screenprints of the masking tape style, so will post them when I do.

Long hairy legs, with a bit of masking tape

Bizarrely I actually did some work this weekend, I drew some work for a bar, hopefully I'll get the commission or I will have to find another job. Will post some more drawings in a few days, maybe some roughs for the bar. Thanks Hels...

Kind of more than limited edition. Another cop out on Xmas presents this year. Quite ironic that his jacket pattern is Islamic. Came out not too bad for print quality though, and coated to withstand the power of modern dishwashers.
Playful yet practical, plus something to drink coffee out of I suppose...

Masking tape and pencil...

I was playing about with tape today, here's a rough I did, maybe do some bigger ones now, the colours seem to work not too bad and it gets me away from the computer.
Pastel yellow tape wahoo. Have a deek anyhoos. I did a few ideas that will hopefully work up into more complete drawings for the show in february at The Red Door in Edinburgh.

Point of Impact

Wrote a big long waffle about war.
Sacked it off though as it was all hot air. I've been into army stuff since I was a child, I wanted to join the army, I wanted to go to Vietnam and kill the 'Viet Cong', strange as I live in Scotland and never even knew what the Viet Cong were, let alone where Vietnam was and why shooting poor people for no good reason wasn't big or clever. Luckily my interest in extreme machine gun violence waned at about age 11 and I got into other stuff.
Whilst soaking up other American propaganda movies I remember that in Rambo 3 he helps the Taliban take on the Russians, yes Rambo helps the TALIBAN take on the Russians. I suppose that was when they were funding the Taliban, so it was okay.
Anyways, here's a war related drawing. Click to make big

Update wahoo

So finally I updated again, got a bit bored with the flash from before, it was making the page move too slow. Anyways, I have still a bit to change and customise, but I am happy with the way this is feeling. Still need to add links and tidy up the old images. I'm giving up on fotolog I think, it's too distracting to work.
Okay. Waffle over

New sketchbooker thing

Okay, no bloggering here for a while.
Just did some doodles in ma book of some wifeys, trying to draw girls if funny.
Sometimes they have big funny noses an their lips look weird. I'm beginning to accept this is okay, and getting into drawing the figure more. I'll post up more soon. Also might change the look of the page soon, as I've been learning a bit more about re-skinning blogs, whilst fishing for chickens in outerspace.
